~ my first tattoo ~
after years and years of wanting a tattoo, designing many and keep changing my mind, i finally got one today:
it’s a picture of koda drawn by ari. the same drawing was used for our 2006 Christmas card, both the online and the printed version. i love that drawing… it’s sooo koda, with her round eyes and foot scratching her face.
it started with me accidentally swallowing the ball of my tongue pierce about three weeks ago. i went to Heeren to find replacement, and stopped by Body Decor Tattoo & Piercing shop. after buying the needed ball, ari and i asked some info about tattooing. even though i’ve been thinking to get this koda tattoo back in March, we still didn’t make any appointment or anything.
then, two weeks later, i swallowed the tongue pierce ball again…yes, again… twice in a month! in the 11 years of me having the pierce, i have never swallowed it until three weeks ago… and now, twice in a month! i still can’t wrap my head around it.
anyways, i digress… i had to come back to the shop to buy another ball replacement. this time, we really did some consultation with Kim, the tattoo artist and ended up making an appointment. it was yesterday.
so, today i got my first tattoo! yay!
it’s a rather simple tattoo, so it didn’t take long (only about 15-20 minutes) and wasn’t that painful. i guess if i was to get larger or colored piece, it’d be more agonizing… hehe. Kim was very nice and always answered my nervous questions with thorough and straightforward answer.
i’m very happy with the new Koda on my arm. it’s so cute and so… me.
ps: some more photos on the Flickr album.

Cool looking tatoo…
I’m currently debating on whether to get another one… how’s the pain… it’s been ten years that I’ve forgot (^_^)
thanks :) the pain is not bad at all. but then again, the tattoo is small and simple (just outline). i’m sure it’ll hurt like hell if i got colored or larger one…
that’s cute! ..you are one cool mama, and i’m still loving your long hair :D
aww, thank you! the hair loves you too for convincing me not to cut it ;)
