we went to Chemistry’s party at Kampong Glam. they were having a small party to celebrate the opening of their new office, which is located at Kandahar street.

i’ve always liked this area. before moving to the current house in Holland Village, we considered moving to the Kampong Glam area. however, the rent of those pretty shop-houses there was out of our budget.

they have great Malay food, though. according to one taxi driver, they have one of the best Nasi Padang in Singapore. the whole ride we took from Holland Village to Kampong Glam, the taxi driver couldn’t stop talking about how yummy the Nasi Padang there. he even went over the history of the restaurants… ari and i thought that he must be a relative of the restaurant owner. he tried so hard that we decided to try out the food after we finish our meeting. and it was excellent. it was definitely the best Nasi Padang that we’ve ever tried in Singapore.

tonight, we tried some Soto Ayam in the area, and i honestly say, again, it’s probably the best Soto Ayam i’ve ever had in Singapore. it’s cheap (only $2.5) and the people are relatively friendly, too. what a treat :)
