~ bird, hat, and murder ~

blue bird

this bird came by again this morning, this time visiting our backyard. i’m not sure if it is the same bird as the one that showed up in our front yard a few months ago, but they sure look alike. well, birds usually look alike anyway.

koda was excited upon seeing this bird. thankfully, she didn’t bark. she just sat quietly and stared at it for at least 10 minutes. it sorta freaked me out that Koda could stay still for that long.

does anyone know what kind of bird it is? it’s so pretty!

brown hat

anyways, i’ve been running out of inspiration in making amigurumi and took a break for the past few days. so, i made a hat using the same yarn as those used on Brownie. i’m hoping that i can use it here in Singapore if we’re going to park or something. i crochet freehand, so it took (i think) 3 tries to get the bottom part flare correctly. well, i wished it a little more wide than it is now, but i was too lazy to take it apart and re-do it for the 4th time…

and now, the crazy stuff: Man’s Body Found in Room at the Indonesian Consulate in NYC… whoa! (via Satya).

I think that’s a white throated kingfisher. And I think its beak is too large… He he.

ah, you’re right! it is white-throated kingfisher (i just googled it). thank you! and yes, the oversized beak stopped me from hanging the wet laundry that morning… i didn’t really want to go near it, just in case it decided to attack me.

Come to think of it again, I think it’s a Thunderbird… So yes, it will attack you with its super-energized thunder beak… hehehe

that’s a nice hat!! i’m pretty sure that bird is the same one who visited before!! they have good memories and they do fly to the same places! it could be probable that he/she has a nest somewhere closeby too!! ^^

thank you, momo! i, too, hope it’s the same bird who came by a few months ago. ari suggested to build a small bird house in our yard, so that they can visit more often, hee hee.
