new monitor

today, our new (and first) flat screen monitor arrived at our home. it’s a nice and shiny 19” Samsung 193P Plus LCD monitor. lovely stuff. the stand is foldable in such a way that we could hang it on the wall if we wanted to. and we can turn the screen 90 degrees to a portrait viewing (instead of landscape viewing)… cool stuff.

ari's work desk

look at the brightness of the screen compare to ari’s old (first generation) Titanium powerbook! what a difference!

now, we’re waiting for the rest of the computer to arrive some time next week: a new G5 apple desktop. it’s about time for ari upgrade his computer… it’s actually long overdue.

for now, ari is enjoying his dual display action from his powerbook.

wow!
i have thought of getting flat screen lidat ha… but cannot see much benefits other than space saving ones. the contrast and sharpness are not as good as CRT ones, just my opinion :)

i just got another monitor — a CRT — (see the next entry), and i have to confess that i *still* envy ari’s flat screen. mine is huuuuuge and, even though the screen size is smaller (mine is 18” and his is 19”). it blocks off the sun, haha. and the sharpness is better on his… maybe because mine is a second hand monitor.

aziiiikkk…new flat screen monitor. 19” pas sih buat gw, i have a dell. are u sure you don’t want one? he3x.. steve & i used to share one using kvm switch (cuz we have mac and pc). after that we got tired and bought another flat screen.

wow you guys are buying G5, that’s expensive! our mac is an old g4. would looove to have a new mac, someday mabe.

i do, i do! but we just got an 18” CRT for 50 bucks today… we may buy another smaller flat screen if ari wants to do double display on his G5… but that can wait.

hey! we’re PC and Mac people, too! ari uses Mac while i’m the PC one. but i don’t think ari wants to share his monitor… haha.

Geez… you gotta love Samsung monitors, since they made Apple’s, so they share the same quality… I never noticed that titanium pbooks are not that bright… or that is just because of the age?

i do! they’re well designed, too. although not as cute as mac’s. hehe.

i think ari’s TI is especially low in brightness due to the age and abuse. haha. it’s on 16 hours a day, 7 days a week for the past 3 years. it’s been working too hard :P
