~ hedwig ~

16 October 2002

last night, after the game, ari and i watched Hedwig And The Angry Inch. jase has been asking me everyday since monday if i have seen the movie. he was like, you HAVE to watch it. it’s really good. bizzare, but good.

it’s bizzare, alright: hedwig is an angstful transexual rockstar with from Berlin who lived in a trailer park somewhere in Kansas. eh…? but despite of the out-of-this-world settings, i was quite surprised how i ended up loving ms. hedwig. she was so soft and comforting at one point and sharp and angry at some others. she was amusing. and strangely lovable. i think i was also in love with the storyline, which no matter how bizzare the settings and the characters are, i could relate to the underlying issues presented.

and, oh, i have to get the soundtrack.

i’m usually not into musical movies but that was a very good one. i think the guy who was hedwig was also the writer/director.

I _just_ found the soundtrack at a used cd store for under $15. It’s been in heavy rotation since. Definitly one of my favorites.
