~ mom going home ~

11 July 2001

my mom and my brother left earlier this afternoon, back to Indonesia. they will spend a night in Tokyo. i took a day off today so that ari and i can take them to the airport. hopefully, they have a good trip.

meanwhile, i’ve been trying to get my Eartlink DSL set up. it turns out that i don’t have their newest software. i tried to call their customer service, but the waiting time was more than half an hour. ugh. i guess, i still have to go through the famous DSL nightmare. so hard to get it work. bleh.

later that night: i finally got thru their customer service using their chat line… talked to this dude named Thomas 603, who’s quite nice. he told me to download a software, so i did. i thought i won’t get into any more problem after downloading a 5Mb software, but there is this one check box that turned off. and the DSL won’t work if i don’t check that damn checkbox. has anyone run into that problem with earthlink? it’s the ‘PEOO… something’ checkbox.

o well, at least i don’t have to go thru what this guy went through to get a broadband connection — via gweld.

I’ve had so many problems with Earthlink dialup, and had to call customer service many times.

really? hmm, the dialup worked fine with me for over 4 years. that’s why i assumed the DSL will be the same way. i guess not…
