~ no-sew tutu ~
on aina’s birthday, ramanda and fenny gave her a no-sew tutu kit for the gift. we didn’t have time to try it out until today.
the kit comes with two kinds of tulle fabric, an elastic band, a pink ribbon and a booklet.
aina immediately wanted to make the tutu. the no-sew tutu is very easy to make, so she practically made it herself. it’s basically just tying the tulle pieces on to the elastic band one by one using cow hitch. aina had so much fun and it only took her about 20 minutes to make. the tutu is so fool-proof, that it looks better and puffier when it’s messy.
after she finished the tutu, she immediately went upstairs, changed her clothes to a pink tanktop and a pink tights.
the booklet also contains cute cutout of tiaras and shoe decorations. the cutest part is that there are three of each tiaras: one for aina, and two little ones for her dolls and stuffed animals. isn’t that adorable?
so, snowy got a matching tiara, too :)
ps: for younger kids, you can use shorter/smaller cuts for the tulle. Aini wrote a no-sew tutu tutorial for The Urban Mama… it’s in Indonesian, but the pictures are rather self-explanatory.

crafting emang seru! sebenernya sih anak cowok juga bisa crafting, tapi emang ga bisa bikin tutu sih, hehehe.
