expiration date 

this is aina’s second time visiting the dentist. her first time was back in october. she was a bit scared back then, so she sat on my lap when the dentist asked her to open up her mouth, looked around with the light and that’s it. aina got 3 candies for opening her mouth. good job, though.

this time, she was a brave little girl. as usual, she came to the dentist with me… she waits in the room, singing and dancing, while i’m getting my teeth cleaned. i think it’s very important for kids not to be scared of the dentist. my mom was very successful in making me a dentist fan when i was a kid. she took me along to the dentist when i was very young, even just for check-ups. i loved going to the dentist so much that for a long time i wanted to be a dentist when i grew up.

anyways, when it was aina’s turn, she looked rather excited. the dentist gave her a pair of sunglasses to wear, the smaller version of what i wore earlier. she was also allowed to push the button to make the chair recline.

i thought the dentist would only do the same thing as the last visit: tell her to open her mouth and look around. but nooo… she grabbed her cleaning tool, asked the nurse to give her some strawberry toothpaste and put the saliva-sucking-hose thing into aina’s mouth, and started cleaning… wow.

to my surprise, aina remained calm. the process didn’t take long, probably only around 10 minutes. and for that 10 minutes, i’m a proud mama!
