expiration date 

i was eyeing a slouchy hat at Muji a few weeks ago, but it was too expensive to buy. so when i got home, i immediately looked for a slouchy hat pattern and a ball of yarn to use. i found a perfect off-white yarn, a leftover from the dotty scarf made two years ago, and a super easy Brooke’s Slouchy Hat pattern in Ravelry.

but then, in the middle of it, i ran out of yarn. don’t you hate it when that happens? well, it got worse: when i went to the nearby yarn store to get some more, they told me that they no longer stock that particular yarn. darn.

so i lost interest and left it in the hybernating pile.

then, yesterday, aina told me that she would love to have that hat. hey, incentive! so, i decided to use all the leftovers from the dotty scarf, even though they are three different colors.

and here it is, the Slouchy Hat #1 is done. it fits me nicely, although i prefer a one-color hat, i thought this turns out to be okay.

and aina insisted to be taken pictures with the hat. she’s all sweaty and of course the hat is too big for her. but she doesn’t care, as long as she’s in the picture. and i kinda think that she’s a better model than i am.
