~ wardrobe cabinet pt. 2 ~

19 January 2006

the delivery from IKEA woke us up this morning. yay, our wardrobe and drawers are here!

so we started assembling them. we did it in the spare room upstairs, because the boxes were quite big. they have so many parts that each of the furniture are contained in two separate boxes. it took us around two hours to assemble the wardrobe cabinet alone. it was sooo heavy!

koda, of course, did all the inspection by sniffing everything.

when the cabinet was finally done, we opened the other boxes to build the drawers. we then found out that IKEA has sent us the wrong color. we asked for the white, and we got the antique stained color. uh oh.

we called IKEA immediately. so, this coming Sunday, they will pick up the wrong drawers and replace it with the white one. i was hoping to be able to migrate all our clothes into the new cabinet and drawers, and move the old rack into the other room to store my craft supplies. but, i guess, that has to wait until Sunday…

mold update: my landlady will have someone to repaint the walls. the thought of breathing the fume makes me sick already.

ugh, i hate the smell of paint, especially in an apartment. are you going to stay somewhere else while they paint your apartment (and until the smell’s gone) ?

Hi! This is not a comment regarding this particular post. I ran into your blog and linked to my LiveJournal friend list. I have a question, though… may I use some of your water lily pictures as my LiveJournal icons? I love water lilies and lotus and your pictures are absolutely gorgeous! I was born and raised in Japan and I enjoyed the pictures you took in Japan. I have never explored Kyushu in my life and that really encourages me to visit there someday. :) I’m also an avid knitter (crochet as well).

Have a great weekend!
