expiration date 

i talked to my brother on the phone today. we rarely call each other, but once we start talking on the phone, we usually end up talking for hours and hours.

same thing happened today. he apologized that he won’t be able to make it to my wedding. of course i’m a little sad that he can’t attend, but his situation is understandable. he has graduated from school and now living in the States under the OPT (i think OPT is an abbreviation of Optional Practical Training — 12 months program that allows non-US permanent resident to obtain working experience after school). and, from what i know when i still lived there, once he gets out of the country, it’s really hard for him to get back in to the States under his F1/OPT visa. so, it’s better to stay there until he’s ready to leave the States for good or after he gets a company that would sponsor him for an H1 visa — a working visa. so, not going to the wedding is better in a long run. besides, he got no money to buy the ticket to Singapore. hehe.

after that, we got into our usual conversation: talking about video games, comics and movies. that takes longer than the previous conversation… much longer. *grin*.
